Everyone wants to achieve a healthier lifestyle and general better well-being, but it can be easy to forget about that goal with our busy current lifestyle.
With work, family, social commitments, and the constant stress brought on by the fact that we are all reachable, at any time, it is hard to reflect, slow down and notice what we are doing that may be damaging our health and lifestyle.
We’ve compiled a list of ten, easy things to do that will help you relax, focus, and take care of yourself. They are just little things, but easily forgotten when we maintain harder lifestyles. Try incorporating one or two a week and gradually you will find more relaxing time and begin to feel like a healthy individual.
- 1. Stop smoking
It may seem like any focus on health and lifestyle adds this one, but it is the biggest way to reduce illness, save money and help you generally feel better all day, every day.
- 2. Eat fish
Fish is a great source for Omega-3’s, something our bodies use to support cardiovascular health, reduce risk of cancer, enhances brain function, and reduces pain and inflammation.
- 3. Take a Multivitamin
Take a multivitamin every day. Not only is a multivitamin good for your everyday health, it can also help supplement any nutrient deficiencies your body is experiencing.
- 4. Five minutes
Take five minutes to yourself and simply relax. Close your eyes, breathe. It may seem like a short amount of time, but this is perfect every day to reduce stress and level out mood.
- 5. Exercise
Take at least 30 minutes and go for a walk, jog, or take a class. Exercising can be fun. If you’re not one for running or bicycling, hope on a trampoline and master all those silly jumps you learned in that brief stint in gymnastics class when you were ten.
- 6. Drink a cup of green tea everyday
Green tea is high in antioxidants. Couple it with your 5 minutes every day and enjoy two benefits at the same time.
- 7. Eight hours of sleep
Try to get a full nights rest every night and see yourself feel energized, refreshed and de-stressed. We work hard during the day, body and mind deserve a good recoup time at night.
- 8. Incorporate Veggies
Try to eat veggies at least once a day. Try to avoid frying them or having high calorie dressing and just eat them steamed, grilled or fresh.
- 9. Colonic
There are great oral versions of colonics so they are easier. Colonics help clean your system and allow you to absorb minerals and vitamins efficiently. Try one every 6 months.
- 10. Wine
Have a glass of red wine with dinner. Wine is good for your heart and has antioxidants, but only when you adhere to the one glass rule. Too much wine can add calories, dehydrate and make you tired. One is just enough to get the benefits.
Lifestyle is made up of all the small things we do each day. We can generally achieve a healthier lifestyle if change just a couple of little things. A better lifestyle is only ten steps away.
