We’ve all felt overwhelmed, tired, stressed, overweight, lethargic and unhealthy. If you are a busy adult like most of us, your health has probably taken a back seat to the chaotic lifestyle many of us adopt as we experience life. With technology growing and changing, we are becoming more accessible and this leaves less time for us to make health conscious decisions.
Perhaps we drink too much caffeine, maybe one too many glasses of wine after work or start squeezing in a couple more hours in the day-these are all habits that need to be broken in order to start working on feeling healthy again. Here are 7 habits to get into to start feeling healthy again. Once started, it will take about two weeks until you are back to yourself; energetic, focused and healthy.
- Water- It is absolutely essential that you stay hydrated. It cleanses, refreshes, moisturizes and allows our system to work efficiently. Aim for 8 glasses a day.
- Breakfast- this is truly the most important meal of the day. It sets the tone for the day-skipping will leave you tired, impulsive, and cloudy. Set yourself up to make good decisions ALL day.
- Exercise- it is recommended that you aim for 30 minutes at least three times a week- if that’s too much, try 15 minutes twice a day. Or 30 minutes once a week. Exercise, even on a smaller level, can be beneficial.
- Catch those Z’s! - We are up working hard all day, we deserve to let our bodies rest and then get right back at it. The problem is not providing our bodies with the chance to truly rest. Go to bed at a similar time every night and aim for at least 7 hours. We are only as good as the amount of rest we’ve given ourselves!
- Vitamins- take a multivitamin every day. They even come in chewy-gummy versions for adults now!
- Colonic- Make sure your body is able to absorb those vitamins and minerals you are taking. Try an oral colonic to cleanse your system and allow proper digestive absorption.
- Chill out! -Take some time each day to relax, and be calm. Your body responds to stress and it’s important to address it. Take 5 minutes, you deserve it!
